“Every artist was first an amateur.”

Ralph Waldo Emerson

On March 9, 2012, the Liberty School Foundation will host a Student Art Exhibit and Auction at the Petaluma Art Center from 7-9:00 p.m..  This is a first-of-its-kind, free event where each and every Liberty student will have an individual work of art displayed in the gallery.

The evening will kick-off with a social hour offering wine, beer, appetizers and the opportunity to wander the venue and view the spectacular collection of unique and extraordinary pieces.  We will then move onto the fundraising portion of the evening where larger works created by each classroom will be auctioned off.  Finally, a winner will be drawn for our $2,500 cash grand prize raffle at the end of the evening.

Today, Petaluma Public Schools face severe budget cuts and are losing funding for valuable curriculum and student development.  Art teaches children life skills such as articulating a vision, learning to problem solve and make decisions, building self-confidence and self-discipline, and developing the ability to imagine what might be.

Thank you in advance for your support of this amazing event.  Together we can make a difference!
