  • Air Quality – It appears that fall fire season has arrived and smoke drift entered our area. Due to this, we wanted to take a moment to share with families how decisions are made regarding air quality. Liberty, like all schools in Sonoma County, follows the guidelines from the State CDPH and SCOE’s Air Quality Guidance, which was recently updated. Among those guidelines are the following directions:
    • School districts will monitor the air quality index (AQI) using EPA’s AQI monitoring tools atFire.AirNow.govwhich aggregates data from Purpleair.com and Airnow.gov.
    • School activities and closure decisions will be made based on fire.airnow.gov measurements and local conditions, such as the availability and quality of air filtration and direct observation of indoor/outdoor air quality.
    • Children with respiratory or heart conditions are vulnerable to poor air quality and may require extra precautions. Parents should consult with their child's health care provider to develop a plan of action and provide us with the doctor’s recommendation for your child.

Due to the air quality today, we held indoor recess and had rooms running their air systems and HEPA air purifiers throughout the day.  If further action is warranted, we will provide more information to our families.

  • Labor Day Holiday - Monday, September 4th is a school holiday.

  • Morning Drop-Off and Afternoon Pick-Up Reminders—For the safety of all children, please review:

To Ponder…

Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.
