  • Beginning of the Year Documents – Please remember to go to the SchoolWise parent portal on our website to complete your beginning of the year documents.  We currently have only 70% of our student documents completed.  This information is vital, especially your child’s emergency contact information.  Please have everything completed this week.  Since permission for use of the library, computer lab and field trips is included in the portal documents, we will not be able to allow students to participate in these programs beginning Monday, September 18th, if the portal documents have not been completed.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Grant in the office.
  • Walk-A-Thon – Hello Liberty Families. Our annual Walk-A-Thon will be Friday, October 13th from 12-6 p.m. The theme this year is Candyland. Students will raise money for Liberty School by asking family, friends, neighbors and other community members to sponsor them to walk around the Liberty School track on Walk-A-Thon day. Here are some things you need to know:
  • Remember, this is the biggest fundraiser for the Liberty Foundation and every dollar counts.
  • Walk-A-Thon pledge sheets will go home Friday.
  • All pledge sheets must be signed and turned in by Friday, October 6th
  • Corporate/ Family Sponsorship Forms – Due Monday, October 2nd.
  • Dinner will be available on a pre-order basis. Extra forms available in the office.
  • Volunteers are needed to make this event a success.  Please check out volunteer opportunities at the link on the Liberty School website next Wednesday.
  • Foundation has added an additional way to collect pledges this year.  If you would like to collect pledges electronically, follow the links:
    • Using your computer's browser:
      Go to http://pledgestar.com/LibertyFoundation
    • Using your Android or Apple phone or tablet: Go to your device’s App Store and search for
"PledgeStar" to download the Family App.  On the home screen enter the event code: “LibertyFoundation” to locate the event.
  • Staff Emergency Preparedness Day – Friday, September 22nd is a staff development day for employees.  The school will be closed for students.

  • Friends of the Petaluma River – Friends of the Petaluma River is hosting their annual Fall Petaluma River Trash Cleanup on California Coastal Cleanup Day, Saturday Sept. 23rd, in downtown Petaluma.  They are trying to build a gathering of about 200 volunteers to remove approximately 5000 pounds of trash and debris from the Watershed.   The post-cleanup celebration will include live music, a BBQ, a raffle and interactive activities for participants in order to show their appreciation for the volunteer efforts. Friends of the Petaluma River is also happy to offer time certification to students needing to meet graduation or other requirements for volunteer hours.  For more information, go to www.friendsofthepetalumariver.org.

To Ponder…

Have a big enough heart to love unconditionally, and a broad enough mind to embrace the differences that make each of us unique.
